On March 31, 1941, Major Lee Jackson was born to the late Eddie K. and Ovetta Ganaway Jackson in
Kemper County, MS. He was drafted by the United States Army in 1963 and served in the Vietnam War.
After his faithful military service to our country, he was employed for over 30 years as a machine
operator for International Paper Company.
Major departed this life on Friday, December 11, 2020 at Rush Foundation Hospital. He was preceded in
death by his parents, four sisters, three brothers, and one great- grandson.
His memory will be forever cherished by his children: Paula Winford of Manassas, VA; Dexter Jackson of
Anchorage, AK; LaSonya McCann of Atlanta, GA; and Prentella Patton of Meridian, MS; four sisters:
Callie (Joe) Presswood of Fort Dodge, IA; Ida Mae Boyd, Susan (Grace) Fortner, and Dorothy (George)
Boyd all of Lauderdale, MS; ten grandchildren; five great- grandchildren; and a host of nieces and
nephews.
